About me: I am by no means, a video professional. And I am surely not a computer expert. What I am is a dad, grandfather, outdoor enthusiast who loves to record events that happen in my life. Events that I would love to remember years down the road. Events that I would love to share with future generations. So I make videos.

I’ve learned many things by trial and error over the years. I have grown to love the video making process almost as much as I enjoy doing whatever it is that I’m videoing. It allows you to document what’s important in your life, while still allowing you to be “creative” along the way. I have had many friends tell me they wish they could do the same with events happening in their life. “What are you waiting for? Jump on board”, I tell them. I have decided to create a service that will assist them, as well as others, in creating their own family videos. I will provide hands-on, interactive training, on your computer or mine. My goal is to assist you to create your own quality family videos and teach you how to post them to the internet to allow everyone you want to enjoy them. I will also teach you how place them on DVD’s to save as part of your personal family history or scrapbook.

I have divided my services into several sessions. You may be interested in one session, a couple of sessions, or even the whole series.

Session 1: Camera selection, setup, and filming techniques. (1.5 HRS)

· GoPro camera selection HD/SD
· GoPro camera setup
· SD card selection
· GoPro settings and video differences
· GoPro mounts, tips and suggestions

Note: I have no affiliation with GoPro, but I have found their camera to be the best on the market for a number of reasons. I cannot provide Session #1 for cameras other than GoPro at this time.

Session 2: Uploading what you have filmed to the computer to be made available for the video editing software. (1 HR)

· USB uploading
· SD card uploading
· HD vs SD considerations
· File conversions for Windows Movie Maker

Session 3: Video editing. (2 HRS)

· Importing footage into video editing software
· Editing footage
· Title page / credits
· Transitions
· Special features (speed up, slow-motion)
· Special effects (black and white, etc.)
· Finalizing video, saving to computer

Note: I am a PC user. I do not have MAC experience. I do have a MAC resource that I may be able to include in my services. For PC users, if you have Windows Movie Maker loaded, we can use this as your video editor, however, I recommend Power Director 9 for a number of reasons. It is a very powerful, but an inexpensive video editor that will save you time and file conversions over Windows Movie Maker. It is also very user friendly, unlike some of the more complex video editing software packages out there. For session #3, I can only provide expertise for WMM, or PD9.

Session 4: Music choice, downloading to PC, applying to video. (1.5 HRS)

· Music selection tips
· Grooveshark setup, browsing tips.
· MP3 upload from Amazon.com, Itunes.
· Ripping music from DVD’s
· Importing music into video editing software.
· Managing music within multiple audio tracks.

Session 5: Uploading your video to the Internet (Vimeo, Youtube) Attaching your video to Webpages (i.e. Facebook, etc.) (1.5 HRS)

· Differences between Vimeo and Youtube.
· Setting up a personal account on Vimeo (or Youtube).
· Uploading your videos to website.
· Privacy / password protecting videos
· Embedding your videos into other websites
· Linking to your video from other websites
